Cardamom Herbal Soda Syrup Recipe
Herbal Soda Syrup For Summer
Are you craving an exotic summer beverage that's not your quintessential lemonade or iced tea, but gives a perfect hint of fresh citrus and floral notes? Well, we have a perfect addition to your beverage repertoire that you can whip up in no time—Cardamom Soda Syrup with Calendula and Orange. Yep, you heard that right! A refreshing concoction that's not only a wonderful addition to soda water but also works wonders when mixed in a cocktail.
What makes it even more tempting is its shelf life—put it in the fridge, and voila! It stays fresh for about a week. But honestly, once you give it a shot, we highly doubt it will last that long.
Before we get started, let's quickly go over the ingredients. We will need 1 and 2/3 cups orange juice to provide a citrusy base to the syrup. Then to balance this, we need 1/2 cup of water.
Next, to give our syrup a floral touch, we will add 1/4 cup of dried calendula petals. It’s a beautiful flower that lends a beautiful colour and taste to our syrup. To add a bit of sweetness, we need 1/4 cup of sugar. Of course, we can’t forget the cardamom and salt.
Ingredients:
1 and 2/3 cups of orange juice
1/2 cup of water
1/4 cup of dried calendula petals
1/4 cup of sugar
1 tsp of inner cardamom seeds
1 pinch of salt
Instructions:
Combine the ingredients in a saucepan.
Simmer on low heat on the stove for 20 to 30 minutes.
Once syrup has achieved your desired flavour, strain and allow to cool. We suggest taste testing while your syrup is one the stove, as the longer the syrup stays on the stove, the stronger it will taste.
