This rice is excellent as a side dish to go with your favourite meal, and just as easy to make as plain rice. The dandelion root to helps to boost nutritional content and provides gentle support for the liver and digestive system.
You will need the following ingredients.
¾ cup dry brown basmati rice
¼ cup dried raw dandelion root
1 ½ cups chicken or vegetable broth
1 tbsp oil or butter
Salt and pepper to taste
Combine all ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil. Next, cover with a tight-fitting lid, reduce heat to low-simmer, and cook for approximately 40 minutes, or until rice and dandelion have cooked. Stir occasionally. You may need to add more water if it has been absorbed before the rice and dandelion have completed cooking. Remove from heat and allow to sit for 10 minutes before seasoning with salt and pepper.
